Hang
on to your hat's Comanche crew! Mr. Bob Peck, President
of the South Puget Sound Maritime History Society has given us
a great 'shore boat' for Comanche'. See picture below.
It's a Puget Sound classic: 33' motor cruiser, built in 1951 by
Fletcher Bay Boat Works, Port Blakely, Bainbridge Island. She is
in good condition: recently hauled for new bottom paint and an
inspection (no soft wood), new electrics and starter rebuild on the
Chrysler Crown gas engine, ship-to-shore, depth sounder, full
galley and LectraSan head. 20 gallons fresh water, 15 gallon
holding tank, 60 gallons fuel. She needs paint on the hull
top sides and the bright work needs to be refreshed. See attached
picture.

We may take her for a run out to Comanche on Saturday (or
Sunday) if you'd like to go. We see some hands to train for
running her, etc. Let me know if you are available Sat and or
Sunday. Thanks, Joe Peterson, for the Comanche crew.
Comanche
volunteers. This weekend, June 27-29, Friday, Saturday and
possibly Sunday we will have work party on the Comanche: painting,
cleaning, mechanical tasks, etc... a good time for all! We'll be
going out (she is at anchor) on the "new" shore boat from
Swantown Marine (Olympia) at 9:30 am, returning late afternoon.
Bring a lunch.
If you can make it any or all of those days or have any questions please
contact Joe at this email or (253) 227-9678. If you are planning
to come for sure get directions and parking instructions from Joe as
well. We are getting ready for Harbor Days the end of August when
we'll "showcase" the Comanche in downtown Olympia!
Thanks so much for your support! Joe for the Comanche crew.
